Let us be honest, why is it that expats complain about staying in Kuwait?
Ok, for the recored I am not complaining. I am very happy with my life in Kuwait, I have a nice appartment, cool car and very good friends (all Kuwaiti) not to mention a productive job. But I understand why some are troubled with the life here. What if you dont have time to enjoy friends because you are working 10 -12 hours a day , 6 days a week? Friends who can show you the culture of Kuwait? (Red Label and the wonderful under cover life in the chalet)
Dont get me wrong it is nice and I am not complaining.
I know it is hard to change things around and things take time, but start with your self. Give the expat a chance to like you and your country.
Promote your culture with pride, endulge us in the FAB life off Kuwait and we will love it here.
And fore most of all dont complain your self.....

I work 12 hours a day 5 days a week...I am sure you guys don't realize that...and I am sure you guys believe that we run to our daddies every time we run out of money, don't you? Maybe we are too busy trying to make a living to show you our culture...why do you guys always assume the worst from us in the first place? you say you are not negative but you judge people on the spot...yes there are losers around here...soo many of them...but there are soo many good people too...I am sorry you cannot differentiate between that :) There is the good and the bad in every place you will go to. Accepting that is one step closer to you making better of yourself, one should not wait for the WHOLE country to change, it will take one step at a time, one person at a time…enjoy your stay in this country :)
if you are after red label and the chalet kind of world...then what u will find will make u sick im sure...that is not who i am..and not everyone in this country is like that..so don't judge us all to be that type! I live my life to the fullest and I do not hide any of it from anyone :)
I know there is alot of Kuwaiti working long hours, but let us be honest you cant compare it with EU. We move out of moms and dads house when we are 16 -18 years old. No support and fore most of all a very independant life. I dont say it is right way, because I am sure there is plenty of good in the bad.
We are not assuming, we are only aknowlegeding facts. YOu have an easy life here in Kuwait and thats is also the reason why I am staying. But at the same time I work my ass off, and it is hard to be away from your loved ones.
I am sure if you studied out side Kuwait that you complained too. Kuwait is nice, and I have many friends with great minds and alot to offer in terms of culture other than Red Label. Dont misunderstand.
I dont want to argue with you, I am nearly a good friend of Lisa, who I care for and I dont like to see get trashed on a blog. I think these blogs can be used as a forum for debate but not a personal attach on any body. Try to remember that next time some one pisses you off.
Listen there are a lot of bad things going around in this country, and in EVERY country out there, and yes I have lived abroad, and my friends have done so 2, we know how it feels...we have seen the bad, ugly and freaky side of the countries we have been 2, but I never really was nasty to the people there :) but then again I guess that is just the type of person I am.
I don't want to argue with you either :) like I said I am not the one to fight with, I don't like fighting, but again, u were not there, u did not hear her insult me over and over again. I will not just sit there while a person insults me, she was being really really nasty...I told her how uncomfortable she was making me feel, but she got even angrier...it got too personal then. I don't hate anyone, I am not a racist and I wish that had never happened, I actually did not start that conversation! And I am fully aware of soo many expats hating us, for the comfortable lives we live, for whatever reason... but I thought Lisa was different, and I actually thought she saw me in a different way..but apparently not...over generalizing is a time saver I guess hehe
and a blog is a personal space where you can share ur thoughts and ideas, so I think I have every right to post my thoughts. Whatever happened to freedom of speech? I mean she had the freesome to voice her opinion, didn't she?
